As retold by
Bruce Lowitt
The president of the temple spots the rabbi across the
street but, as he is about to call to him, the rabbi enters a Chinese
restaurant.
Curious, the president watches as the rabbi sits down at a table far in the
corner. The waiter arrives, and the rabbi places his order.
After a while, the waiter arrives with a huge domed platter. He lifts the lid to
reveal a roast suckling pig.
Stunned, the president bursts into the restaurant and confronts the rabbi, who
looks up and says, "This place is amazing! You order a baked
apple, and
look what it comes with."
