Jewish
National Fund (Keren Kayemet L'Israel) and the Blue-and-White Fund are
offering a package deal for b'nai mitzvah gifts—simultaneous investments in
Israel's environment and Israel's economy.
The two organizations announced today (Feb. 9) that bar and bat mitzvah students
that participate in the JNF's Bar/Bat Mitzvah program will receive a free $18
stock certificate in the Blue and White Fund, a U.S.-based mutual fund that
invests primarily in Israeli companies.
"Conversely, for every child that the Fund distributes a share of stock to in honor of a religious milestone, the Jewish National Fund will plant a tree in their honor.,"
according to a joint news release from the two organizations. "The partnership will allow the growing Fund to reach potentially thousands of additional investors every year."
Information on this program and other collaborative efforts between the two
organizations may be obtained via their websites, www.blueandwhitefund.com,
and www.jnf.org.
"I am very pleased that a prestigious organization like the JNF has agreed to partner with us in helping to promote investment in Israel," said Shlomo Eplboim, President and CEO of the Blue and White Fund. "Together we hope to encourage the next generation of concerned American Jews to support Israel both financially and environmentally."
