Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz has been appointed to head a special delegation to the United Nations
on Monday, Jan. 24,
that will commemorate the 60th anniversary of the liberation of the nazi concentration camps.
The General Assembly session will initiate a full week of events that will
culminate on Jan. 27 with an international commemoration ceremony at Auschwitz.
President George W. Bush said on Friday, Jan. 21, that other members of the delegation will
include Ambassador Anne Patterson, the U.S. acting permanent representative to the United Nations; financier Henry R. Kravis of Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co., and Bryce Sandler, president of Sandler and Associates.
