Thanksgiving is a favorite with vacation and holiday fun.
We have delicious dinners and give thanks for what’s been done.
Sharlene Stone says sixteen is exciting,
A birthday with an atmosphere that is inviting.
This all happened to Sharlene when she was surprised at a lovely brunch with all her friends on her sixteenth birthday. It was given at the San Diego Club. Wonderful isn’t it. Best wishes.
Rolling and twirling on their roller skates,
Were four girls and four boys which equals eight.
Marcia Ruskin’s birthday did they celebrate.
And all the kids all reported the party was really great.
Happy birthday.
Gail Kahn admitted being 16 is really great,
And had a party that really did rate.
The music and dancing were such fun,
A good time was had by forty-one.
Thirty young ladies will get together for luncheon at Valle’s on Friday, November 27, to help Brenda Heiman celebrate her 16th birthday.
Beth Jacob Youth League predicts a swell time at their Harvest Hop Saturday, November 28 at 7:30 p.m. There will be dancing, games, raffles, and refreshments. Boys wear Levi’s and girls wear Peasant Skirts. Be on the Lookout for a “Candlelight Ball” on December 12.
If its news you want—please do call.
A Happy Thanksgiving to you all.

Letter to the Editor Southwestern Jewish Press November 27, 1953 Page 2
Gentlemen:
We are now in the process of converting one of our spacious rooms into a miniature but we hope adequate Jewish Library and Reading Room. It will be the only one of its kind in Korea and all the Far East Command for that matter. It will serve an estimated 800 to 1000 Jewish personnel in the immediate vicinity, plus practically every other Jewish GI in Korea who must pass through here upon entering or leaving the country.
We are writing to you now in the hope that you will be able to lend assistance to this venture, which we consider to be of high moral and morale value. Specifically, then, if you could, we would appreciate your placing us on the regular mailing list for your publication.
Yours very sincerely,
